It's ink treated paper. I did an ink wash and then sprinkled salt over it. Really cool effect. Asphalt-ish.

been awhile since I been here, (just drop by from time to time) but I have completed some work that I should post. Sorry for not replying to your deviants, but I have still been watching, or is that lurking? Also I saw your son's wooden pirate theme chest. It looked great. tell your husband he also did a great job too. Anyway, I am out of here again wishing you continous success!
